About Todd Peverill Outdoor Festival

Bring your creativity to life at the Glenwood Chalk Art Festival, where sidewalks become canvases and imagination transforms the Glenwood Town Square into a vibrant outdoor gallery.

Presented by Visit Mills County, this exciting festival invites artists of all skill levels to create large-scale chalk masterpieces surrounding the beautiful Mills County Courthouse in historic downtown Glenwood, Iowa.

Whether you’re a seasoned chalk artist, a student exploring your creativity, or someone who simply loves art and community — this festival is for you.

Artists will spend the day transforming pavement into colorful works of art while festival attendees stroll the square, vote for their favorites, and celebrate creativity in the heart of Glenwood.

There is no cost to participate, and each registered artist will receive a box of 24 soft pastels to help bring their vision to life.

Artists are encouraged to submit a proposed theme or concept as part of the application process. Individual creativity is celebrated, and all artistic styles are welcome.

🎨 Youth Artist (Ages 8–12)

Space sizes are available in:

🖍️ 4 ft x 5 ft spaces
🖍️ 10 ft x 10 ft courtyard spaces (limited availability at Keg Creek Brewing Co.)

People’s Choice voting tickets will be sold throughout the day, giving visitors the opportunity to support their favorite artists.

🕖 7:00 AM — Artist Check-In
🖍️ 8:00 AM — Artists Begin
👀 2:00 PM — Judges Tour the Square & Votes Counted
🏆 3:00 PM — Winners Announced

Chalk is provided, but artists may bring their own specialty materials, including:

✔️ Kneepads or cushions
✔️ Specialty chalk or pastels
✔️ Shade umbrella (no pop-up tents)
✔️ Other approved art materials
